Our Story
Roy’s Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electrical was founded in 1973 by Roy Dollendorf with a simple but powerful mission: to do the right thing and deliver customer care that went above and beyond. What started as a plumbing company quickly became a place where trust, quality, and family values guided every job. Roy passed on his passion to his young son Mike, who began tagging along on service calls at the age of eight. From those early experiences, Mike gained not just technical skills but also a deep understanding of how to treat customers with honesty and respect. Those formative years laid the foundation for what would become a lifelong dedication to the family business.
In 1983, the Dollendorf family faced an unimaginable loss when Roy passed away suddenly. Despite the hardship, Marsha, Roy’s wife, stepped in with remarkable strength—earning her Master Plumber’s license to keep the business alive. Mike, then just 17, adjusted his school schedule to begin working full-time, running service calls every afternoon. Together, they poured everything into keeping Roy’s dream alive, and over the years, the business grew into a true family operation. Today, multiple generations of Dollendorfs work side-by-side, serving the Buffalo community they’ve always called home with the same dedication and integrity that started it all.

This was our first time using Roy’s, and they now have a new customer! Thank you to our service tech, Matt Franjoine, who was punctual, courteous, worked cleanly (I appreciate the shoe covers!), quickly assessing & fixing the issue. I am thankful they keep parts on hand, and that this didn’t result in a 2nd call with a follow-up repair visit. I would definitely recommend calling Roy’s!!

The entire AC installation experience was seamless!
The Comfort Advisor did a great job reviewing the work to be done and explaining all of the various options I had. They answered all of my questions and went into depth and worked to fit the AC install into my schedule.
The technicians that came arrived on-time and were courteous, easy to talk to, and quick! It maybe took them 4 hours - 4.5 hours to install the AC unit and it's various components. Since the weather was too cool, they have to send a technician out again to complete the final setup of the AC unit with my Nest thermostat, but that's to ensure it runs as efficient as possible, so no complaints here.
The technicians though were clean and great in going over the work they did and answered all of my questions! All-in-all, a great experience with Roy's and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again!
02/2023 Update: I've continued to have great experiences with Roy's and am excited for my home plumbing to be re-piped by Jeff and his crew.
09/2025 Update: Evan Doud was friendly and professional! He was on time, actually a little early, for his timeframe and made quick work of checking my slow bathroom sink drain. I ended up having the drain replaced as certain components were warping, which was causing my issue - Evan took care of it all in an hour. All-in-all, another great experience!
